Six years after his divorce from then-wife Halle Berry was finalized, Eric Benet is ready to settle down again.
The 44-year-old R&B crooner proposed to his girlfriend, Manuela Testolini, in November, according to People. Manuela was previously married to music icon Prince.
“During a romantic dinner I decided to finally let Manuela hear ‘Never Want to Live Without You,’ a song off my new album that I had written for her,” Eric told the mag in a story published on Friday. “I sang it to her, then got down on one knee and proposed.
Manuela, 34, founded In A Perfect World, a charity for children that aims to inspire and empower young people.
Eric and Manuela have reportedly dated for three years and will tie the knot this summer, according to the mag.
In related Halle news, the actress’ ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, has asked a court to formally recognize that he is the father of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Nahla.
In papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on December 30, Gabriel asked for a court order establishing that he and Halle will share physical and legal custody of their daughter.
Halle, 44, and Gabriel, 35, dated for two years before she gave birth to their daughter in 2008. The couple split in April 2010.
