Sunday’s secret word is “Gotham.” Paul Reubens will appear as Penguin’s father during the Fox drama’s sophomore season.
Star Robin Lord Taylor, who plays Penguin and his alter ego Oswald Cobblepot, first dropped the casting news at New York Comic-Con on Sunday.
“Pee-Wee Herman is playing my dad! What the hell? Oh my God!” the actor told the crowd, according to Variety.

Reubens will serve as a recurring guest-star, Fox confirmed to Access Hollywood following the announcement. Details on his first episode have not been released, but Robin hinted that fans won’t have to wait long.
“He will be showing up very soon,” the actor reportedly teased.

The character isn’t entirely new territory for Paul. He first played Tucker Cobblepot opposite Danny DeVito’s Penguin in 1992’s “Batman Returns.”
Other DC universe credits include voicing Bat-Mite on animated series “Batman: Brave and the Bold.”
His “Gotham” role adds further clarity to Oswald’s backstory — Carol Kane plays the villain’s mother.
“Gotham” airs Monday nights at 8 ET/PT on Fox.
