The Golden Globes’ official Twitter account would like a
do-over.
As the nominees were announced on Thursday morning for the
2016 Golden Globe Awards, the award show’s Twitter page mixed up presenter
America Ferrera with “Jane the Virgin” star (and Globe nominee) Gina
Rodriguez – not once, but twice!
“The @goldenglobes noms are about to start! @HereIsGina
@ChloeGMoretz @ImAngelaBassett #DennisQuaid #GoldenGlobes,” the Globes
posted, along with a photo of this year’s four celebrity presenters, which has
since been deleted.

Then, as the announcements began shortly after 5 AM PT,
“Ugly Betty” alum America took to the podium to get things going, and she was once again subjected to a Globes’ Twitter
flub.
“.@HereIsGina is kicking off the @goldenglobes nominations announcements #GoldenGlobes,” the Globes wrote in another since-deleted post with a photo of America at the podium.
The Globes soon realized the mistake and posted Tweets with
America correctly tagged, instead of Gina.

But, of course, they couldn’t correct the mistake before the
Internet took notice – and, predictably, weighed in…

In a statement to Access Hollywood on Thursday, the
Hollywood Foreign Press Association apologized for the gaffe.
“What occurred this morning was an unfortunate error.
Our sincerest apologies to both America and Gina,” the HFPA told Access.
Neither Gina nor America has commented on the flub.
