Glen Powell is on top of the world!
The 35-year-old is starring in “Twisters” alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos and explained to Access Hollywood at the Los Angeles premiere why the project is a full circle moment.
“It was so amazing working with James [Paxton] on this movie and it was surreal because I worked with [his dad] Bill [Paxton],” he said. “You know, obviously ‘Spy Kids’ was my first film and the full circle nature of like trying to occupy those boots here in this movie.”
Since working with Bill in “Spy Kids 3: Game Over,” Glen has gone on to take over a role that Bill was known for in this new “Twister” re-boot and he told Access they were hard shoes to fill.
“It’s impossible boots to occupy, but to have James there, you know to talk about his dad, a guy that I worked with a couple of times and really so many of the things that Bill taught me over the course of the years,” he said. “It was really a very full circle moment and James has become a very close friend.”
“Twisters” was a special project for Glen for several reasons—he adopted his dog Brisket while working on the project.
I adopted Brisket while we were on ‘Twisters’ and so really, this is a communal dog. This is a dog that the cast and everybody in Oklahoma embraced quite a bit,” he said.
“Twisters” hits theaters July 19.
