Estella Warren, who a decade ago seemed destined for stardom, is in LAPD custody and won’t be released until someone posts a $100,000 bail bond.
Warren, a model-turned-actress (whose breakout role was in the 2001 “Planet of the Apes” remake with Mark Wahlberg), was taken into custody just after midnight on Tuesday in the 600 block of North Harper, where she was stopped for suspicion of DUI.
Officers took Warren to LAPD’s 77th Street station where she was to be booked.
According to someone familiar with the case, Warren then allegedly assaulted a police officer and attempted to escape.
The LAPD confirms Warren is being held on suspicion of DUI but will not confirm any other details of the investigation.
It is known that $100,000 would be an extraordinarily high bond for DUI alone.
Warren’s representatives were still sorting out their response to the matter when contacted by Access Hollywood, however, they said they will be able to supply information later today.
In addition to “Planet of the Apes,” Warren’s notable film credits included “Kangaroo Jack” and “Driven’ — before her film career declined.
