Farrah Fawcett Documentary To Air On NBC

Farrah Fawcett’s upcoming documentary, “A Wing and A Prayer,” is slated to run on NBC, Access Hollywood has learned.

A specific airdate for Fawcett’s documentary, which chronicles her battle with cancer, has not been set.

“NBC is as courageous as Farrah for airing the subject matter that she is filming in prime time,” Craig Nevius, the documentary’s producer, said in a statement released to Access.

“Jeffrey Zucker and VP of Alternative Programming and Specials Doug Vaughan, [who are] overseeing the project, have shown nothing but an unwavering support for Farrah, that has remained, above all, human.” Nevius added. “Her health and her message have remained their priority, instead of rushing the project to the air or grabbing at headlines. They have respected both her privacy and her creative voice. From the beginning, the network has insisted that ‘A Wing and A Prayer’ will air when both it and Farrah are ready.”

As she continues her battle, the actress said she believes there is an explanation for the disease she has so valiantly fought for three years.

“I’m holding on to the hope that there is some reason I got cancer and that there is something, that may not be very clear to me right now, that I will do,” Fawcett said during an interview shot for the documentary.

Nevius hopes chronicling Fawcett’s valiant fight will help to promote a heightened social awareness when it comes to cancer.

“Ultimately, the film will do what Farrah has always done so well: get people’s attention and get them talking,” he added. “And those are always the first steps toward effecting social change of any kind.”

Fawcett was first diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006.
