Peggy Olson is one paw step down the road toward becoming a crazy cat lady on “Mad Men.”
“She’s totally a cat lady,” Elisabeth Moss, who plays the advertising copywriter on the AMC drama, told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on Monday night at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
On Sunday’s episode of her show, after a run in with a dying rat — and no friend willing to help her with it in the middle of the night — Peggy got a cat.
“I love cats, so I’m kind of OK with it,” Elisabeth said.
Elisabeth picked up a Best Actress Award at the Critics’ Choice ceremony on Monday for her lead role in the Sundance Channel miniseries, “Top of the Lake.”

After so many nominations over the years, Elisabeth said she was genuinely surprised to win.
“It was crazy, to be honest. I’ve been nominated a bunch, which is awesome. My shock at winning and hearing my name was very genuine ‘cause I’m used to losing,” she said with a laugh.
