Diablo Cody is heading back to high school.
According to Variety, the “Jennifer’s Body” and “Juno” screenwriter will write and produce an adaptation of “Sweet Valley High,” a book series and ‘90s TV show centered on two identical twins.
The book series, which began in 1983 and includes over 150 volumes, chronicles the ups and downs of Jessica, an outgoing cheerleader, and her more bookish, level-headed sister, Elizabeth.
Diablo, who won an Oscar for her work on “Juno” but saw her latest film, the Megan Fox-starring “Jennifer’s Body” disappoint at the box office, is also reportedly attached as a producer to “Breathers: A Zombie’s Lament” for Fox Searchlight.
She is also the creator of and a producer/writer on Showtime’s “United States of Tara,” which earned star Toni Collette an Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series on Sunday.
