David Arquette might have a serious “Dancing with the Stars” cheerleader in the form of Courteney Cox, but the actor says they’re not getting back together.
“We’re pretty much in the friend zone,” David told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson after Monday’s “DWTS.”
Despite the couple’s relationship woes (they confirmed their separation in October 2010), Courteney and daughter Coco have been staples in the “DWTS” audience cheering on David.
“We love each other with all our hearts, but it’s a difficult situation,” he explained. “It comes down to compatibility, and it comes down to how you make each other feel about certain things. Though we love each other and we love to laugh and have a great time, it’s difficult.”
The actor also opened up about how he and Courteney are handling their split with their 7-year-old daughter.
“Kids know everything, they know a lot. They feel it, they sense it. I was really honest with her throughout the whole experience,” he told Shaun. “There’s not much we don’t communicate about — all of us.”
David Arquette and professional partner Kym Johnson performed a rumba on Monday’s show for a score of 24/30, ending in a four-way tie for fourth place, with Kristin Cavallari, Rob Kardashian, and Hope Solo. “DWTS” returns on Tuesday with its results show at 8/7 C on ABC.
