Daphne Oz’s Happy Diet! (Healthy Hollywood)

As the daughter of the great Dr. Oz, Daphne grew up in a home that emphasized healthy living. Now, at 28, she’s created her own wellness journey. Daphne is the co-host of ABC’s food-fest chat show, “The Chew.” Plus, she’s a new mom and is learning the art of eating to be happy. “It’s about indulging for a good reason – a gorgeous homemade meal or an amazing dinner out. So you wait to eat the things that you really enjoy, not stale rolls that happen to be sitting in front,” reveals in the November/December issue of Fitness magazine.

The Fitness magazine cover girl is also learning to be patient with losing the pregnancy pounds. She gave birth to her first daughter in February and is realistic about her post-baby body. Adding, “The weight isn’t pouring off but I figure that it takes 9 months to have baby and it’ll take at least that long for it to come off. I feel a lot more energetic and in better shape now than I did when I first started exercising again.”

As a mom, Daphne, like most new moms, is learning to rely on easy, healthy snacks that can be eaten with one hand. She shares with Fitness magazine her top picks that pack protein, complex carbs and little fat to keep you full.

1. PB & J Smoothie:
“Put 1 cup each frozen blueberries and strawberries, ½ banana, 1 tablespoon almond or peanut butter, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt and a little water in a blender. Add 1 tablespoon ground chia or flaxseed and blend.”

2. Herb Popcorn:
“Pop 3 ounces kernels. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons dried herbs, such as dill, parsley, thyme or oregano. Drizzle with 4 tablespoons virgin coconut oil. Mix.”

3. Veggies & Crackers:

“Mix together feta, tomato and chopped cucumber with a little olive oil and jalapeno on a wasabi cracker. It’s so simple and so delicious.”
