“Dancing with the Stars” has said goodbye to its first celebrity contender of Season 21.
(Spoiler alert! This story reveals the results of Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars.”)
The first elimination of the season was handed down on Monday night, moments after music star Chaka Khan and her partner, Keo Motsepe, and Gary Busey and his professional dancer, Anna Trebunskaya, were put in jeopardy. Host Tom Bergeron delivered the bad news though, to Chaka.

“I absolutely enjoyed it and I’m so happy to have met everybody and I made great friends here,” Chaka said after learning she was going home.
She also said she felt bad for not taking her partner, Keo, further in the competition.

“I feel like I did him such a disservice,” she said. “This guy, he is — by far — one of the best dancers I’ve ever seen.”
The pair learned of their elimination after a night of strong competition that once again saw Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough rise to the top. The Aussie and her pro thrilled the judges with a wildly fun routine to AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long,” a single her father, the late Steve Irwin, loved. He even used to dance with her to the song, she said. Bindi and Derek closed out the show rocketing to the top of the leaderboard for the second week in a row to the tune of 25 out of 30 points.
Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, who had shared the top spot with them last week, put in a good performance, but dipped a little in the scoring department from last week, earning 21 points and a tie for seventh, in part because Nick had trouble with his shoes (he slipped!).
“You were buzzing so much, you forgot the footwork at times,” judge Bruno Tonioli said. “But I like your confidence. I like your alert approach to the performance.”

Second place in Week 2 was a three-way tie between Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson, Alexa PenaVega and her partner, Mark Ballas, and Tamar Braxton and pro Val Chmerkovskiy. They all proved they were strong contenders, each scoring 24 out of 30.
Train hero Alek Skarlatos, who is paired with pro Lindsay Arnold, once again proved he is one to watch. His jazz routine with Lindsay took them to a 23-point score.
“I definitely believe in you,” Bruno said. “Last week was not a fluke.”
Social media star Hayes Grier rocked it out with a foxtrot with partner Emma Slater. Carrie Ann Inaba even told him he didn’t need a motorbike, which was used as a prop at the start of his routine, because he can dance. Julianne Hough said she couldn’t stop smiling during his routine, while Bruno complimented the teenager on having “the arms of a ballet” dancer. Hayes and Emma ended the night with 22 out of 30.
“Dancing with the Stars” continues on Tuesday night on ABC.
