“Fuller House” star Jodie Sweetin has joined the
cast of “Dancing with the Stars” Season 22.
The announcement was made on Wednesday’s “Good Morning
America,” and during an interview with the morning show team, Jodie
revealed she previously turned down the celebrity dancing competition due to
work commitments.
“I would have loved to have done it in the past but it
was a huge scheduling conflict with ‘Fuller House’ at the time so I just — I
wasn’t able to do it, but I’m a huge fan of the show, so this is really
exciting,” she said.

Jodie’s “Fuller House” co-star, Candace Cameron Bure, previously competed on “DWTS” in Season 18 with professional partner Mark Ballas, and recently, current pro Valentin Chmerkovskiy and former “DWTS” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy filmed guest spots on Jodie and Candace’s Netflix series.
Dancing with Val for “Fuller House” was a nice lead-in to “DWTS.”
After performing with Val for her series, Jodie said she thought, “‘I love this, I want to do this. I want to do this for sure.’
“So it definitely helped set things up,” she added.
The actress has been paired with pro Keo Motsepe for Season 22, and they already have a few days of rehearsal under their belts.
Jodie heads into the Season 22 with confidence.

“I’ve always loved to dance. Stephanie [Tanner] was a dancer on the show growing up, I danced growing up — not as much as I would have liked to, I definitely don’t call myself a professional, but I have some experience, I have some rhythm, so I think I’ll be OK,” she said.
The full casting announcement will be made next Tuesday on “GMA.”
