Craig Kilborn is heading back to television.
Kilborn, who previously hosted CBS’ “Late Late Show,” before leaving the program in 2004 (he was replaced by another Craig – Craig Ferguson), will host a new show in an earlier time slot.
The New York Times, which was first to report the news, reported that the show would be syndicated via 20th Television, a division of FOX.
The new show will incorporate talk and, according to a memo, will also incorporate a “nonpolitical ‘Daily Show’” type of vibe, the NY Times reported.
Kilborn’s new show will reportedly air in the early evening.
Kilborn was the original host of “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central, a show now hosted by Jon Stewart. “The Daily Show” turned from broader comedy toward political humor after the hosting change.
Since leaving talk television, Kilborn has appeared in a host of films including “The Shaggy Dog” which starred Tim Allen and Kristin Davis, and “The Benchwarmers” alongside David Spade, Jon Heder and Molly Sims.
