Former “American Pie” star Chris Klein has reportedly decided to extend his stay in rehab following his second DUI arrest.
According to People, Klein will remain at the Cirque Lodge in Utah, where he has been receiving treatment since June 21.
“Chris, along with his support team, has decided to extend his treatment. He is doing fantastic and is optimistic about his future. He thanks everyone for their continued support,” the actor’s rep told the mag.
Other celebrities who have previously checked in to Cirque Lodge include actresses Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate Olsen and Eva Mendes.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Klein was arrested on suspicion of DUI in the early hours of June 16. According to California Highway Patrol, the 31-year-old actor was stopped on the 101 freeway in LA at 3:13 AM after being observed weaving in and out of traffic lanes.
At the time, authorities told Access that Klein’s blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit of .08 in California. The actor was booked and released on his own recognizance.
He had his dog in the car at the time, which has angered at least one animal rights group.
Klein was previously arrested and charged with one misdemeanor count of DUI in 2005 after being pulled over in San Diego County. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years probation.
In addition to his breakthrough role as Oz in the “American Pie” films, Klein’s other movie credits include “We Were Soldiers,” “Rollerball” and “Just Friends.”
