Chris Colfer On His New Disney Channel Pilot: ‘It’s A Great Side Gig, A Great Hobby!’

Chris Colfer has a new Disney Channel Pilot to be “Glee”-ful about.

“It’s called ‘The Little Leftover Witch’ and I’m in the process of developing the pilot with them right now,” the “Glee” star told Access Hollywood at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night. “Knock on wood, we’ll see where it goes.”

Following his Golden Globe win in January for his touching portrayal of Kurt Hummel on the hit FOX series, Chris can now add “screenwriter” to his impressive resume.

“I’ve always wanted to write and I’ve always been kind of a secret closeted writer,” the 20-year-old star explained. “I honestly never had any intentions of being a part of it and it just sort of fell into my lap. People asked me do you want to do this and I said, ‘Yes, absolutely, why not?’ It’s a great little side gig, a great hobby!”

The series, which is about to begin shooting, centers around a little witch who was welcomed into a family after crash-landing on her broom, Deadline reported.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the small screen star was recently revealed as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world, alongside many Hollywood notables including Amy Poehler, Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, Colin Firth, “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner and Matt Damon.
