Cher is in talks to join Christina Aguilera in the movie musical “Burlesque,” a rep for Screen Gems confirmed to Access Hollywood.
The “Moonstruck” Oscar winner would play the owner of a Los Angeles burlesque club in the Screen Gems film. Christina Aguilera will make her film debut in the lead role, a small-town girl who works at the burlesque and begins to follow her dreams.
The film will be directed by Steve Antin, the brother of Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, with a script by “Erin Brockevich” scribe Susannah Grant.
The news coincided with Cher’s birthday — the singer turned 63 on Wednesday. The star will celebrate tonight by going to work, with a concert at the Colloseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
