Chelsea Handler will take the talk show to a whole new place – Netflix!
The talk show host, who is exiting E! after seven years in August, has landed on the streaming content service with a show that “will feature an updated format,” Netflix announced on Thursday.
The new show will be filled with Chelsea’s “unfiltered opinions on topical entertainment and cultural issues, as well as her signature guest interviews,” the release continued.
“If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested. I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move,” Chelsea said in a statement “I’m more excited than I’ve been in a while, and the team at Netflix is the most forward thinking, alert group I’ve sat down with in ages. No offense to the ‘Shahs of Sunset,’” said Chelsea in a statement, giving a small comedic jab to the Bravo series.
In addition to her 2016 talk show, Chelsea will have a one hour stand-up comedy performance from her “Uganda Be Kidding Me Live” tour air on Netflix in October and four new docu-comedy specials in 2015.
