Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon is clawing back after semi-nude photos of the Disney singing sensation popped up online within the last several days.
According to the NY Daily News, Bailon is gearing up to file suit against someone who put personal photos of the star, naked from the waist down, on the Web.
“It’s not a scenario where she purposely leaked the photos for attention,” Jonathan Jaxson, a rep for the star, told the NY Daily News on Monday. “We’re pursuing legal action.”
Bailon, who is currently on tour with her Cheetah Girl bandmates, reportedly had her laptop stolen from her luggage at JFK Airport last week. The paper reported it was returned several hours later by a person who asked for $1,000.
The singer’s family picked up the laptop but did not get any contact information from the person who recovered the computer.
“They didn’t really want to question it further,” Jaxson told the paper.
Though she got her computer back, the semi-nude photos, which showed the singer in just a brassiere, were leaked online.
The Cheetah Girl is said to be “absolutely distraught” over the scandal, her rep said.
A Disney spokesperson was not immediately available for comment when contacted by the Daily News.
Bailon isn’t the first Disney star to be hit with a nude photo scandal. Last year, “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens admitted that nude photos of her, which surfaced online, were authentic. She expressed remorse following the incident.
“I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends,” Hudgens said in a statement.
