Candace Cameron Bure & Mark Ballas: The Right Couple Won ‘Dancing’

Candace Cameron Bure placed third on Tuesday’s “Dancing with the Stars” Season 18 finale (losing the mirrorball trophy to Meryl Davis and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy), but the actress is being a good sport about the loss.

Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez spoke with the Candace (and partner Mark Ballas) after the show, and the former “Full House” star said she was in great spirits.

“I’m feeling great, I’m so happy!” Candace said, when asked how she was feeling after the finale.

The 38-year-old star also admitted she thinks Meryl and Maks were the couple who deserved to win the competition.

“I do, I totally think it was right,” she said, when asked if she thinks the right pair won.

Mark said that while he thinks Derek Hough and Amy Purdy easily could have won as well, he’s excited for Maks.

“I feel like it could have gone either way, it really depends which couple you’re rooting for. But I’m really ecstatic for both Meryl and especially Maks,” he said. “I’ve known Maks since I was 9 years old – we all grew up together. He’s been on [‘DWTS’] the longest, I think, out of all the boys, and I think it was really his turn and I thought Meryl did an incredible job. [She is] sensational to watch.”

As for Mark’s shoulder (which he injured this week but went on to perform in the finale anyway), the dancer said he’s “OK” for now.

“I have time to rest and do all the right things now,” he said.

When asked if he thinks it was “smart” of him to dance Monday and Tuesday while injured, Mark replied, “Probably not, but I made it through without making it worse, so…”
