Britney Spears Heads To Court For Conservatorship Hearing

Britney Spears was back in court on Friday afternoon for the latest hearing in her conservatorship case.

The singer, dressed in a grey blazer and a short black pencil skirt, pulled up to the LA County courthouse in a white Escalade and entered the courtroom with her father, Jamie Spears, as well as an assistant and bodyguard.

The hearing began on time – a rarity for a Britney court appearance – before attorneys asked media including Access Hollywood to leave the room to discuss “information of a personal nature.”

Following the hearing, Britney’s attorneys told reporters that she plans to auction off the metallic dress she wore to the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008 — which marked her return to the public eye after her tumultous hospitalization at the beginning of the year — for Haiti relief in a charity effort that Miley Cyrus has begun organizing. Britney’s lawyer Sam Ingham also noted Britney was looking forward to making “progress with [the] conservatorship,” but would not comment on the hearing’s specifics.

The star’s appearance was made to discuss her father’s ongoing conservatorship of her affairs, put in place in February 2008 as a temporary measure and made permanent prior to her “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” tour in October 2008.

Britney was previously scheduled to appear in court last Friday, but was absent due to an apparent miscommunication.
