Brandon Sklenar is excited for fans of the thriller genre to see his new movie “Drop.”
“I just think it’s a classic throwback to thrillers and suspense films like I grew up watching in theaters,” he told Access Hollywood at the premiere. “It’s a good ride. You’re going to leave the theater being very happy you spent 90 minutes or so watching this film.”
Brandon stars opposite Meghann Fahy, who portrays Violet, a woman on a first date who receives a series of terrifying, anonymous messages on her phone.
The movie called for Meghann to take part in a stunt involving a harness, which turned out to be a rewarding challenge on set.
“It was amazing. I’d never done any stunts before, so I was learning a lot,” she said. “It was a lot harder than I think it seemed to me at first. You’re in this harness for 10 hours. You can’t really breathe, because it’s so tight, but you’re supposed to be hyperventilating and screaming. So it was definitely a little bit exhausting by the end of it, but it was an incredible experience, and the stunt team that helped us was excellent.”
The movie was shot in Ireland, and being away from home gave Meghann, Brandon and the rest of the cast the chance to bond.
“It’s a place where none of us are from, and it was kind of new. We spent a bunch of time hanging out, and it was very, very easy from the jump. So, we got really lucky,” Meghann shared.
“Drop” hits theaters on April 11.
