Betty White Admits She’d Be ‘Embarrassed’ To Finally Meet Robert Redford

Betty White finally saw Robert Redford’s reaction to his placement on her bucket list (he told Access Hollywood earlier this year “she had her chance”), and the actress admitted she really doesn’t want to meet the legendary film star.

“I don’t ever want to meet him,” the “Hot in Cleveland” star told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “I would be so embarrassed. I’ve taken his name in vain so many times.”

“It’s nice to have something to look forward to,” Betty’s “Hot In Cleveland” co-star Wendie Malick chimed in.

“It is, it certainly is. I can dream, can’t I?” Betty said.

While a romantic hookup with Robert isn’t on the cards any time soon, Betty gets butterflies when working with her “Hot in Cleveland” cast mates – Wendie, Valerie Bertinelli and Jane Leeves.

“We fell in love the first time we sat down to do a script reading and it’s never gone away,” Betty said.

And she credits TV Land for making the show a success.

“They knew their audience,” Betty said of the network’s move from re-runs to original programming with her show, two seasons ago. “They had run old sitcom reruns for years… When they did turn to live shows, they put on an old fashioned sitcom and it worked.”

At 90, Betty is the oldest member of the cast, but Wendie suggested her longevity isn’t supplemented by a healthy eating regime.

“She eats hot dogs, she eats French fries… Diet Coke and vodka,” Wendie laughed.

“They’re always trying to talk me into, ‘You must have a salad! You can’t have a hot dog for lunch.’ [I say] ‘I’m 90, how old are you?’” she recounted.
