Benji Gregory, ‘ALF’ Child Star, Found Dead In His Car Of Suspected Heatstroke At 46

Benji Gregory, the former child star known for his role on the ’80s sitcom “ALF,” has died at age 46.

The actor and his service dog were found dead in Gregory’s car at a bank parking lot in Arizona on June 13, his sister, Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, announced on Facebook this week.

According to her post, Gregory passed away from heatstroke after falling asleep inside his vehicle. Hertzberg-Pfaffinger noted that she and his fellow loved ones think he was at the bank to deposit checks but never made it out of the car.

Temperatures in Arizona reportedly surpassed 100 degrees at the time of Gregory’s death. Per NBC News, an official cause of death has yet to be determined.

“Ben was a great Son, Brother and Uncle. He was fun to be around and made us laugh quite often. Still, going through his things, I find myself laughing at little videos or notes of his, in between crying,” Hertzberg-Pfaffinger wrote in part.

Gregory’s TV mom, Anne Shedeen, was among those to share her sorrow over the sad news, writing in the comment section that she’s “devastated” over the loss.

The performer starred as Brian Tanner opposite Shedeen in “ALF,” which ran for four seasons and followed a family who took in a stranded extra-terrestrial that crashed into their home.
