Selena Gomez brought thousands of Los Angeles-area school kids to their feet Thursday morning as the first to take the stage at California’s inaugural WE Day celebration.
The educational event drew 16,000 local students to the Forum in Inglewood, California, for a day of inspirational speeches and celebrity appearances. Students earned admission to the WE Day event by doing good deeds and supporting service projects at their schools.
Seth Rogen, “Modern Family” star Rico Rodriguez, “Glee” star Darren Criss and Hollywood couple Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have taken the stage so far. Other celebrities set to appear during the program include Demi Lovato, Charlize Theron, Zooey Deschanel and Kermit the Frog.
Highlights from the program will air as a TV special on ABC in August.
