Ashley Tisdale Set To Release Second Studio Album

“High School Musical” alum Ashley Tisdale is ready to show the world that at 23 years old, she’s more than just a Disney kid.

Following the success of her first studio album, “Headstrong,” Tisdale is branching out with an edgier pop-rock sound on her new album, “Guilty Pleasure,” which is set for release on June 16, 2009.

“I went in knowing exactly what I wanted to do and the message I wanted to put out there, which is that I’m 23 and I’m not just the cute, bubbly blonde girl you know from Disney,” Tisdale said of her latest studio venture. “I have a tougher side and I love rock music, which are things people probably don’t know about me.”

The energetic break-up anthem, “It’s Alright, It’s OK,” is the first single to be released from “Guilty Pleasure” and seems to set the tone for the rest of the record.

“I love break-up songs,” Tisdale confessed. “On this album, I put to rest a lot of baggage from a previous relationship by venting about the frustration. Everyone can relate to those moments. That song is about how you need to stand up for yourself and not let someone walk all over you; it’s a message I wanted to get across to other girls.”

“It’s Alright, It’s OK” hits the Top 40 airwaves and the digital retailers on April 14.
