An “Arrow” beauty is heading to Dracula’s lair.
NBC confirmed on Friday that Jessica De Gouw will play the female character Mina in the upcoming series “Dracula,” which stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers.
Jessica recently caught the eye of “Arrow’s” Oliver Queen on The CW as Helena Vertinelli (aka The Huntress), a young woman bent on revenge after her fiance was killed by her own father’s henchman.
Jessica’s new show, “Dracula,” has been described by NBC as a “provocative” version of Bram Stoker’s classic, set in 1896.
The series begins when Dracula arrives in London, pretending to be an American entrepreneur, who claims he is trying to bring modern science to Victorian society. His real goal is to enact revenge on people he believes have wronged him.
Dracula’s one problem with revenge occurs when he falls in love with a woman, who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
The show is based on a script by co-executive producer Cole Haddon.
Carnival Films, the studio behind PBS hit “Downton Abbey,” Flame Ventures, Playground, Sky Living and Universal Television are co-producing the 10-episode series.
Winona Ryder played Mina, the female protagonist, in a big screen version of “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” which was released in 1992.
