Ariana Grande’s Christmas tree is a major holiday mood.
The “Thank U, Next” icon took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a photo of her unique Christmas center piece in her NYC pad – a Christmas tree hanging upside-down from the ceiling!
The ceiling tree is adorned with white lights and a pile of black packaged Christmas presents at its base.
When asked about why she chose an upside-down tree over a more traditional one, Ari told TMZ photographers that, “sometimes life just be upside down.”
The 25-year-old even inspired her bro, Frankie Grande, to try out the creative technique with his own decorating, which he shared in an Instagram post Tuesday.
“Waiting for Santa,” Frankie wrote in upside-down type.
This wouldn’t be the first time the “Sweetener” singer has been inspired by the upside-down perspective of things.
The album art for “Sweetener” features images of Ari that are upside-down, which is a concept that she revealed was thought up naturally in conversation with a friend.
“I showed Aaron a photo and he was sitting opposite me and he said ‘I even love it upside-down’ and that was kind of it for me,” she explained in a tweet back in June. “At the time I had been feeling v ‘upside-down’ for a while & the simplicity of that was like oh duh wow…”
Her music video for “No Tears Left To Cry” also features a lot of topsy-turvy imagery, with the singer sometimes in upside-down terrain.
Ari always seems to be ahead-of-the-curve, and maybe she’ll be inspiring Arianators to try out some avant-garde holiday décor!
