Are Americans Ready For “World Trade Center”?

With a nation still nursing the wounds of 9-11, are Americans ready to come face to face once again with the tragedy that unfolded that day?

Oliver Stone?s “World Trade Center” chronicles the true story of two Port Authority police officers, played by Nicolas Cage and Michael Pena — who were both pulled out alive after an unbelievable 22 hours buried in the rubble of the towers.

Keeping the integrity of the story at the forefront, the entire cast spent significant time with their real-life counterparts.

Maria Bello, who plays McLoughlin’s wife Donna, even gained 15 pounds and wore blue contacts in order to stay true to character.

And Cage and Pena performed hours a day in coffin-like confines, covered in dirt and dust.

The real-life rescuers acted as advisors to keep the story true to life.
