Anna Kendrick has become an “it girl” actress, starring in everything from dramas to indie films to comedies and musicals.
In spite of her successful career and Oscar nominee status, the actress said she often faces scrutiny for her physical appearance.
“The most common thing that I get is, ‘Am I the only one who doesn’t think that Anna Kendrick is pretty?'” she told Marie Claire in an interview for their December issue. “And you’re like, ‘No, you’re not the only one. Arguably, all of the boys in my high school agree with you.'”

The actress – who will next be seen as Cinderella in “Into The Woods” with Meryl Streep, followed by “Pitch Perfect 2” – explained why feels driven to complete project after project.
“Mostly it’s the fear that the wolves are always at your heels and you’re going to be tossed out into the street,” she told the mag. “If you grow up middle class, you just always feel like you’ve got to be working, because otherwise you won’t be able to pay the rent.”
Catch the full interview with Anna when Marie Claire hits newsstands on November 18.
