Alan Arkin, who last night took home the Best Supporting Actor honor for his role in ?Little Miss Sunshine? didn?t have the best of wishes for his nominated co-star, ten-year-old Abigail Breslin.
?I hope she loses frankly,? he told Access Hollywood?s Nancy O?Dell and Shaun Robinson on the Oscar red carpet. ?No, I?m serious. I am not joking.?
Arkin continued on his rant, telling Access he hoped the attention the young actress is getting would subside.>
?I hope she loses. What, next year she is going to get the Nobel Prize? It?s enough. She has had enough attention,? he said. ?I love her and I love her family; and I feel enough is enough. She is a kid; she needs to have a childhood?.I hope she loses.?
When asked if he thought he would ?steal the show? with Breslin, Arkin, who won for playing a foul mouthed, drug taking grandfather in ?Little Miss Sunshine,? replied ?I am not going to steal anything. We are going to take what?s rightfully ours and nothing more.?
