The 24th James Bond film is tapping into a classic storyline from the spy’s past.
On Thursday, director Sam Mendes announced the next title, “SPECTRE,” at a press conference at Pinewood Studios London.
In Ian Fleming’s novels, SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) was an evil organization that 007 battled numerous times and has not been seen on the big screen since “Diamonds are Forever.”

“A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization,” the logline for the Daniel Craig-starring film states. “While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.”
Also on hand for the announcement were franchise newcomers Christoph Waltz (who is playing Bond’s main villain Oberhauser), David Bautista (Mr. Hinx) and new Bond girls Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux.
Ralph Fiennes (M), Ben Whishaw (Q), Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny) and Rory Kinnear (Tanner) will also return for the new film.

Filming is set to begin on Monday and will shoot in a slew of locations around the world including England, Italy, Mexico, Morocco and Austria.
“SPECTRE” will hit theaters on November 6, 2015.
