Billy Ray Cyrus is calling it quits on his marriage to Firerose.
The 62-year-old country star quietly filed for divorce in Nashville back on May 22, according to documents obtained by Access Hollywood.
The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer and Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rose Hodges, were married for 7 months, having tied the knot back in October 2023.
In the documents, Cyrus cites “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” as the reason for divorce. In addition, the “Hannah Montana” star is requesting an outright annulment on the grounds of fraud.
TMZ was first to report the news.
According to the documents, Billy Ray gave his third wife two days from the date of the filling to leave his residence and is not allowed to return without his written permission. Cyrus reportedly paid her $500 a night for 10 nights to stay in a hotel for temporary housing.
The couple originally met in 2011 while Cyrus was still working on the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana,” which starred his daughter, Miley Cyrus. They remained in touch as friends over the years, and started making music together during the pandemic, ultimately releasing four songs together — “New Day,” “Time,” “Plans” and “After the Storm” — the last of which was released in March.
In April, both Cyrus and Firerose shared gushing posts on social media celebrating their six-month anniversary.
“6 months ago I married this man. Life isn’t always easy… but it sure helps when your husband’s also your best friend. Thank you Lord!,” Firerose wrote on Instagram alongside wedding photos. Cyrus, meanwhile, posted that he had “so much to be grateful for.”
Access Hollywood has reached out to reps for both Cyrus and Firerose for comment.
This is Billy Ray Cyrus’ third divorce after previously being married to Tish Cyrus from 1993 to 2022. The exes share three children together, Miley, 31, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24. He also adopted Tish’s children from a previous marriage, Brandi, 37, and Trace, 35, and shares son Christopher Cody, 32, with ex-girlfriendKristen Luckey.
The country singer married Cindy Smith in 1986 and later divorced in 1991.
