Scarlett Johansson has an enviable shape as Marvel’s Black Widow.
While her character is mysterious, sexy and intriguing, the stunning star says the secret behind getting in Natasha Romanoff-shape is far less interesting.
“It’s no secret – no secret thing. All boring!” Scarlett told Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez at the “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” junket, when asked how she gets her body ready for her character’s skin-tight black bodysuit. “Boring 5 AM workouts.”
And the diet? Scarlett said it’s just as “boring!”
“Salad and chicken and, you know, nothing else, pretty much,” she said, laughing. “It’s that old tried and true ‘work out like a dude and eat like a rabbit’ [plan].”
Scarlett’s not the only Avenger stuck on the bland diet – the actress said co-star Chris Evans had to shrink down then bulk up in a very short amount of time.
“The last time I saw him was for some reshoots that we did, or additional shooting that we did for this film, and he was much smaller. I don’t know how he bulks up like that!” she said. “I can’t imagine that he ever is not eating chicken. Like, how much chicken do you eat a day? Be honest, do you just wake up with meat kabobs?! I don’t know how he does it.
“He puts so much bulk on,” she continued. “But yeah, we’ve never been competitive in the gym. [Chris] Hemsworth [Thor] and I are more competitive in the gym.”
And off-screen, Scarlett’s life is just as exciting – she’s newly-engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac and is expecting her first child. But the soon-to-be new mom said she’s not planning her wedding just yet.
“Oh, I don’t plan anything. I’m terrible at planning,” she said. “Yeah, I’m not gonna plan anything – I like to wing it!”
Catch Scarlett, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” – in theaters on April 4.
