Not since a table was flipped somewhere in suburban New Jersey has a “Real Housewives” moment caused such fervor – leave it to the New York ladies to get a leg up on their franchise sisters with a tossed prosthetic limb in the middle of a posh Manhattan restaurant – the horror, the horror!
Aviva Drescher visited Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday, where she revealed how her leg literally came undone and landed on the floor as her cast mates gasped.
“I was being attacked by three shrews at a cocktail party and some people throw down their glasses and I just threw down my leg!” Aviva, who lost her leg when she was 6 in a farm conveyor belt accident, explained.

So who were these three shrews that Aviva speaks of?
“Heather [Thomson], Carole [Radziwill], Kristen [Taekman],” Aviva told Billy and Kit. “They were coming after me about the truthfulness of my asthma.”
Fans of the show will remember that Aviva has been challenged about if she really has asthma or if she just prefers to avoid group trips with her co-stars.

“They were saying I was faking it. I would never lie, I would never fake something like that,” the reality star, who once threw an inhaler at a co-star, continued.
Inhalers are one thing, but to throw your own leg? Aviva explained how the tension was kicked up so many notches that night.
“I got sick of it and I had to make a point, so I made the point by throwing my leg on the table to shut them up – what else was I going to do?” Aviva said. “It was a knee-jerk reaction.”

In promos for the epic reality TV moment, co-star Kristen is seen gasping and turning away as if she was witness to a train wreck – something that offended Aviva.
“I’m very disturbed on behalf of the whole amputee community,” she said of Kristen’s reaction. “She was so repulsed at the sight of a prosthetic leg!”
Aviva also stirred the pot on another major point of contention from this season – whether Carole had the help of a ghostwriter on her novel, “The Widow’s Guide to Sex & Dating,” which Carole has repeatedly denied.

“You know, I think like every writer, I think she had help. I think she had help!” Aviva said, ensuring that the drama of “RHONY’s” Bookgate has many more chapters ahead.
“The Real Housewives of New York City” finale airs tonight on Bravo at 9 PM.
