Amanda Bynes is speaking out after audio recordings of the actress were posted online on Saturday, in which Amanda can be heard talking about wanting to “murder” her father.
The recordings, posted by TMZ, were reportedly made by Amanda’s former roommate during a car ride.
And now, Amanda is speaking out exclusively to Access Hollywood, apologizing for the remarks heard on the recording and claiming she was betrayed by the person who made the recording.

“I’m sorry I trusted people who clearly were not my friends and capitalized on my illness. I am doing my best to get better. I am truly sorry for the statements I made. I am sorry for any pain I caused my family and others,” Amanda said in a statement released to Access by her attorney, David Esquibias.
“I am thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding. I never expected others to take advantage and profit from my condition. I’m disappointed with those who lulled me into a false sense of security only to find out they really are only interested in selling my privacy to the media,” the statement concluded.
Amanda also posted a series of Tweets on Saturday night, claiming she was simply joking regarding the comments about wanting to “murder” her father.
“By the way – i was obviously joking about hurting my family – i straight up don’t believe in harming a soul,” she Tweeted, along with several other posts on the topic.
Earlier in the day, Esquibias spoke to Access, blasting TMZ’s decision to publish the recordings.
“I’m disgusted by TMZ. The audio is not news and it’s not even gossip,” Esquibias told Access earlier on Saturday. “Amanda sees her doctors four days a week and I’m in contact with her all day, every day. Publishing audio like that does not help Amanda at all. The media needs to be more responsible.”
In the first clip, the voice reported to be Bynes rants about wanting to kill her father, saying, “I want to literally like lead him into a ditch, and I haven’t decided how I’d want to murder him… nothing would give me greater pleasure than slitting his throat.”
She blasts a male voice for being “so gay it hurts my feelings” and “ugly” in the second clip.
“I have been in contact with Amanda’s conservator’s attorney and we both agree that TMZ has invaded Amanda’s privacy and has gone too far,” Esquibias continued, earlier on Saturday.
However on Saturday night, the attorney for Amanda’s conservator said she never made such statements to Esquibias claiming that the outlet invaded Amanda’s privacy.
As for when the recordings were made, Esquibias told Access the “recording happened several days ago” and that the embattled actress is “not with these people anymore.”
“These girls are just looking to make a buck,” he added.
A rep for TMZ was not immediately available for comment on accusations of invading Bynes’ privacy when Access Hollywood reached out on Saturday.
